My mother-in-law has one worked in a pig farm. One of her main duties was to get up at 5am and press a button to feed the pigs. It was stressed that it was a very important thing to do on time. Once she forgot. By the time she realised that, pigs had started eating each other. Which is fair enough if your world is reduced to the bottom of the pig in front, two pigs on the sides and occasional nudges from the pig behind. That was forty years ago. What’s changed since then? Not much. Humans, civilised, intelligent, compassionate and so on with the self proclaimed noble titles, we all prefer not to think about how that steak ended up on our plate. It feels to me like the biggest hypocrisy known to mankind. Or is it not?
